Pastor Garth Olsen

Pastor Garth Olsen is a New York native growing up in the Adirondack Park. Graduating from Saranac Lake High School and SUNY Potsdam he felt called to pursue ministry in the ELCA.

Pastor Garth graduated from United Lutheran Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in Spring of 2021.

Pastor Garth was ordained in November of 2021 to serve as a Military Chaplain. From June 2022-2023 he deployed to the Horn of Africa

He was called to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in October 2023 where he has been ever since.

Susie Gawrysiak-Office Manager

Susie Gawrysiak is a Virginia native who moved to CNY in 2023. She and her family have been Lutherans all their lives. She enjoys reading and walking with her two dogs.

Michel Guarneiri - Music Director

Michel is our Organist and Choir Director. He also shares his considerable talent with many music groups as Syracuse University.

Jim Plantholt - Council President

Husband and father of two, Jim along with Church Council leads the congregation in pursuit of serving our neighbors and growing together as disciples in Christ.

Becki Harris- Worship/Music Director Emeritus

Becki Harris (left) is a professional music developer and teacher who shares her wisdom and talent with the congregation, especially in the liturgical arts.

Charlotte Santella -Audio Visual

Charlotte has been a dedicated member of Good Shepherd for 27 years. She raised her three children here, enriching their spiritual growth. As a long-time Sunday School teacher, Charlotte has guided our children in Christ’s teachings. Her work on the church council shows her support for our mission. Additionally, she served as Office Administrator,

During the Covid-19 pandemic, she managed audio, video, and livestreaming our worship services, helping us stay connected.

Through her social media efforts, especially on Facebook, she has built community support during challenging times.

Helping keep everyone connected and active is vital.

Ava Farino

Ava has over 5 years working in childcare ages ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years old. She is currently a preschool teacher and assistant director at a local daycare. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and going to the park!
